Job Summary:
The research device engineer position will leverage prior lab experience to advise team members on experimental observations and idealization, while simultaneously designing and developing methods for fabricating innovative OLED device structures with the director. Duties of this position include conceptualization, fabrication of OLED devices. This role will involve strong collaboration with test engineers in a lab environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Adapt and develop experimental protocols and methods.
  • Work and communicate closely with technicians and other engineers to understand lab observations, advise on next steps, and generate new experimental ideas.
  • Investigate scientific questions by designing and performing lab experiments, including parsing scientific literature for experimental design inspiration and interpretation of results.
  • Draw conclusions from experiments and summarize findings.
  • Operate various processing tools, including glove boxes, fume hoods, deposition tools, etc.
  • Maintain a current and up-to-date knowledge of device optimization for OLEDs and other display technologies, as needed.
  • Assist with special projects, as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor or M.S. in materials science, physics, chemical engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years working experience in a class 1000 or better cleanroom, with knowledge of various fabrication methods, such as thermal evaporation, lithography, plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition, etc. Experience in OLED fabrication is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Good team-working skills.
  • Ability to perform and succeed in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to communicate in both spoken and written English.
  • Experience reading and interpreting general technical information.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems in an efficient, proactive manner.
  • Demonstrated track record of accuracy, thoroughness, and perseverance.
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desire to be a part of cutting-edge technology development and application in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • The flexibility to work irregular hours, when required.
