Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team. The primary responsibilities of this role include administration, implementation, maintenance, and overall management of critical enterprise systems and infrastructure including servers, network, storage, cloud, and other technology resources in support of our global business IT environments.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of system architectures, networking protocols, storage solutions, virtualization technologies, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security of our infrastructure. This role will serve as a point of escalation to the Service Desk team and other team members, by providing advanced support and expertise in maintaining the environment and resolving complex technical issues.

Key Responsibilities
  1. System Administration:
  • Design, manage, and optimize global IT infrastructure including hardware, software, storage, networking, cloud resources, servers (physical/virtual), hyper-converged systems, and hypervisors.
  • Administer systems and user access, covering user and service accounts, profiles, groups, file systems, and configuration changes while adhering to change management processes.
  • Ensure performance, availability, and security through monitoring, log analysis, capacity planning, patching, firmware updates, access controls, and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Safeguard data integrity and continuity by managing backups, testing data restores, and automating routine administrative tasks for efficiency.
  • Support documentation and collaboration, maintaining detailed system diagrams, inventories, policies, and serving as a technical resource for ongoing projects.
     
  1. Service Delivery and Performance:
  • Oversee and optimize service delivery by monitoring SLA compliance, defining and tracking KPIs, and ensuring adherence to best practices for efficiency and performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement through proactive recommendations based on performance data and stakeholder feedback, while being accountable for timelines and expectations.
  • Apply ITIL-aligned practices to support structured, reliable, and scalable service management.
     
  1. Support and Issue Resolution:
  • Act as an escalation point and provide advanced technical support, leveraging diagnostic expertise to resolve complex issues for end users and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to address critical failures, maintain a knowledge base for recurring issues, and support 24x7 global operations through on-call availability and occasional travel.
  • Ensure operational continuity by participating in planned and unplanned activities and maintaining readiness for high-impact support scenarios.
  1. Process Improvement and Innovation:
  • Continuously enhance IT administration by assessing workflows, implementing best practices (e.g., CIS standards), and leading automation initiatives to boost efficiency and service quality.
  • Stay ahead of technological trends, recommending and deploying innovative solutions that align with industry standards and improve overall service delivery.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in systems administration, with an extremely strong focus on Windows operating systems in an enterprise environment; Linux, a plus.
Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications such as MCSA, MCP, ITIL, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, and Microsoft Azure Administrator are preferred.
Technical Expertise:
  • In depth experience with Microsoft Windows Server; familiarity with Linux, a plus.
  • Managing hyperconverged, compute, network, and storage infrastructure, strong experience with managing NFS and SMB storage protocols on enterprise class storage systems; familiarity with out-of-band-management tools such as iDRAC; familiarity with HXDP and Nutanix, a plus.
  • Expert level experience managing VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXI; KVM/QEMU virtualization platforms, a plus.
  • Experience in building and managing cloud infrastructure in Azure; deploying cloud resources such as VPN gateways, virtual networks, VM’s, load balancers, network security groups, scaling, and optimization; familiarity with Amazon AWS, a plus.
  • Deep understanding and experience with Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, RDS, WSUS, SCCM, MS CA Services, File and Print services, Exchange Server, MS SQL; other DBs such as Oracle, PostgreSQL a plus.
  • In depth knowledge, management, and administration of Microsoft 365, hybrid Exchange, Entra AD deployments, Conditional Access, Entra Enterprise applications, Entra Identity and SAML/SSO.
  • Must have experience with managing VDI deployments such as Omnissa Horizon or similar solutions like Azure Virtual Desktop
  • In depth understanding of IP traffic flows, layer 2 switching, layer 3 routing, structured cabling, NAT, IP service ports, layer 3 and layer 7 firewall ACL management, VLANs, LACP, TCPIP and related troubleshooting tools and utilities; experience with Cisco switches and wireless networking devices.
  • Experience managing SD-WAN, site-to-site VPN, MPLS, and client VPN solutions.
  • Familiarity with policy-based DNS filtering solutions.
  • Enterprise backup, data recovery, application aware backup technologies.
  • Familiarity with DELL Open Manage Enterprise and APC Data Center Expert, a plus.
  • Scripting languages such as PowerShell, automation capabilities.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of security best practices including server hardening, least privilege and zero trust principles, familiarity with CIS framework, a plus. Ability to foster security awareness and remain security focused.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with a commitment to professionalism and collaboration.

Annual compensation range: $95-135k negotiable plus bonus and equity
