Position Summary:
The successful candidate will focus on the thermal behavior, sublimation characteristics, and purification processes of OLED materials to support innovation and scale-up efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct research on the sublimation and thermal properties of organic and organometallic compounds used in OLED and related technologies.
Design and optimize sublimation and purification protocols for high-value materials.
Perform thermal analysis using instruments such as TGA, and DSC to assess stability, decomposition, and phase transitions.
Collaborate with synthetic chemists, analytical scientists, and process engineers to integrate thermal data into product development workflows.
Develop and validate methods for thermal characterization and sublimation efficiency.
Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, results, and interpretations.
Present findings to internal teams and contribute to technical reports
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in all laboratory activities.
Maintain well organized laboratory
Qualifications:
MS or BS in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
3+ years of hands-on experience in thermal analysis and sublimation research, preferably in an industrial or advanced materials setting.
Proficiency with thermal analysis instrumentation (TGA, DSC) and data interpretation.
Strong understanding of thermodynamics, phase behavior, and purification techniques.
Experience working with air-sensitive or thermally labile compounds is a plus.
Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
Demonstrate track record of accuracy and thoroughness
Curiosity to learn
Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal direction
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with OLED materials or other organic electronics.
Experience in a CRO or fast-paced R&D environment.
Knowledge of vacuum sublimation systems and scale-up considerations.
Working Conditions:
Laboratory-based role with exposure to high-temperature equipment and chemical handling.
Located at the DuPont Experimental Station, a collaborative and innovation-driven research campus.
May require occasional travel to UDC headquarters or partner sites.
