Job Summary:
The Research Test Engineer position will leverage prior lab experience to set up the test system, while simultaneously calibrating the system and measuring the devices then. Duties of this position include measurement of OLED devices and data processing of the experimental results. This role will involve strong collaboration with fabrication engineers in a lab environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Optical and electrical characterization of OLED devices and thin films using a range of experimental techniques; data management.
- Adapt and develop experimental protocols.
- Work and communicate closely with technicians and other engineers to design and set up the facility to meet demand.
- Feasibility study, evaluation and demonstration of new test or measurement technologies.
- Play a significant role in the day-to-day running and management of application center’s equipment including oversight and implementation of health and safety procedures.
- Assist with special projects, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or M.S. in electrical engineering, physics, materials science, or a related field.
- 1-3 years working experience in a class 1000 or better cleanroom is preferred.
- Proven experience in Python and MATLAB for data management. Experience in LabVIEW is preferred.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Good team-working skills.
- Experience in working with organic-based semiconducting materials and be adept in performing material characterization. Knowledge of OLED is a plus.
- Experience in self-made equipment for optical and electrical characterization of inorganic or organic devices.
- Ability to perform and succeed in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Ability to communicate in both spoken and written English.
- Experience reading and interpreting general technical information.
- Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems in an efficient, proactive manner.
- Demonstrated track record of accuracy, thoroughness, and perseverance.
- Ability to work independently and to manage time efficiently towards agreed priorities.
- The flexibility to work irregular hours, when required.
