Test Engineer (2nd Shift)

Job Summary:
The testing and data processing infrastructure at UDC is continuously expanding and improving to meet the needs of a growing research and development team. The Test Engineer will be part of a professional team engaged in the development and maintenance of custom-built OLED device characterization test equipment.


Responsibilities:
  • Apply engineering principles to develop custom automated OLED characterization test equipment
  • Design, build, maintain, and troubleshoot testing infrastructure in an efficient and organized manner
  • Create necessary support documentation and provide training
  • Develop novel OLED diagnostic and testing methods by carrying out scientific measurements, summarizing results, and reporting data to scientific staff
  • Analyze measurement processes throughout the relevant traceability chain to identify and quantify measurement uncertainty
  • Effectively manage and prioritize a diversified workload of short term/long term projects
  • Supports overseas engineering staff
  • Additional duties as required
Qualifications:         
  • BS degree in physics, electrical engineering, computer science, or related field
  • Experience designing, building, and troubleshooting of electronic/optical test equipment
  • Experience in the interface and control of scientific instrumentation of automated measurements
  • Experience with programming in Python and relational databases
  • Experience with optical test equipment or optical systems is highly desired
  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems in an efficient, proactive manner
  • Demonstrated track record of accuracy and thoroughness
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
*This is a 2nd shift position that will be working from 3:00pm to 11:00pm*
